Hi there looking for advice on my 16 year old daughter applying for legal aid to take me to court for aliment ,I have paid for my daughter since she was two and a half years old when myself and her mother split up,all the time its always about money and now my daughter has fallen out with me and her mother has turned her against me .I have now reduced the payments to what is calculated with the GOV online and have been issued with lawyers letters about paying for haircuts, gym membership ,waxing, pocket money etc etc which I think is terrible ,any advice would be appreciated thanks
hi,
Gov site says: Child maintenance payments usually stop when the child reaches 16 (or 20 if they’re in full-time education up to A-level or equivalent)
i take it your child is in college/A-levels. i strongly advise you to contact Child maintenance service. pay £20 and register with them. pay what they tell you to pay and thats it. i did same and that stopped ex and her family begging for money.
