hi guys

i became a dad three weeks ago. i love my little girl to bits and want to be a good father to her

my partner spends a lot of time on mums forums and on facebook etc etc talking to other mums, and there are countless pregnancy & baby magazines aimed at mums but nothing i can see for dads. i have also looked on the net for local parenting groups aimed at dads (we live in east london) and can't seem to find anything. a couple of my friends are fathers but they live in different towns and i don't see or speak to them very often, so i have joined this forum hoping to get some advice and just to connect with other dads really!

Hi and welcome to the forum, and congratulations.

There's lots of dads on here who will help out, and at least one who became a dad at virtually the same time as you. Look forward to chatting with you and hearing how you're getting on.

And just to reassure you, you may feel at these early stages that you and your partner are making stuff up as you go along. Well, I have 4 kids (oldest being 14) and we still make it up as we go along! The key is to ask people and listen to advice and go with your gut. You'll do great!
