Hello everyone!

I'm here for advice on fatherhood, as well as sharing those funny little anecdotes that come up during pregnancy and early years. My SO (soon to be wife) is 22 weeks gone at present ... this is our first child, so quite excited but anxious as well.

Hi Imperionic

Welcome to Dadtalk and congratulations on your news.

Tell us a little about yourself - there are many people on this site so please use it to get some advice but also join in with some of the fun.

It is a life changing event but don't worry (well not too much!) but if you want to share the progress here we will respond.

I am a father of two and still make lots of mistakes (especially according to my kids!) but the one thing I have tried to do is enjoy every moment I have with them.

Hi Imperionic, Supermario

And Hello everyone else!

I am brand new to this forum too. I am a stay at home dad of 4 little nippers. I currently work for Bayard children's books (AdventureBox, DiscoveryBox and StoryBox) and I am also taking second place to my wife's blog! I am here to get to grips with the world wide web and social networks (that apparently Brits spend 25% of their online time on!).

I really look forward to chatting to all the other dads here! If anyone else is from the UK please say hello!!

Cheers,
Jake

Hi Jake aka Bayard

Welcome to the Dadtalk community great to have you along for the ride 😀

So you're one of a growing breed of us dads who gets to stay home, have to say i'm 100% jealous! 😉 Although home alone with 4 must be a handful!!

Looking forward to having your input on here and FYI we are pretty much all based in the UK

Hi Jake (Bayard!)

Working for a children's book company sounds an ideal job!! I'm considering, and trying to get ready to become a stay at home dad to my first child (due end Sept this year)! So looking for advice on how to manage that as well!

Hello Harveys Dad, Imperionic & Ron -

Very nice to meet you all and thank you for the warm welcome!

Being home alone with four little ones is definitely a handful - and considering I try to concentrate 100% on work 33% of the time, it does prove to be quite a challenge.

Working for Bayard Children's Books is a great job, I do love it. My kids are a major source of inspiration, after all everything I do is for their generation!! In fact it is because of one of my kids that I helped push for a feature in our latest DiscoveryBox about the D-Day Landings!

Imperionic - are you expecting a boy or a girl? With regards to being a stay at home dad, my first piece of advice is to master your multi-tasking skills! Juggling baby / child, work and life is imperative - and once you get to baby #4 like me it will become second nature 😉

What else is everyone else up to?

Cheers,
Jake
