Good evening fellow fathers, my name is Shaun Buchanan and I would like to ask for your help in a noble cause in getting men recognized as parents of parity rather than a financial charity. Please see link below:

Hi there

Whilst I can understand why you want to put this forward I do think it is always going to be a difficult subject to not only legislate but also to police.

Would be good to hear your story though - as it may help others

Just want to prevent a great mishap from destroying the lives of responsible fathers. We don't do enough to campaign for our rights, women constantly push back the barriers of injustice and social equality. It is about time we done the SAME.

My story is not an unusual one I have a 6 year old boy who I see often but he would be better off with me. The mother knows this but refuses to do what is best for him because he keeps her in the house she lives in and it would cut her benefits.

Everything involving large groups of people is hard to police, that shouldn't prevent us from taking a stand as the lives of children are ruined before they have even started.

Family courts to have an impartial hearing if the parents can not sort out residency between themselves they bring forward a each of their cases to show the Judge why the child would be better off with them. Then a judgment is passed or who is the fit and proper parent instead of women getting them by default unless they are deliquent, drug users or mentally ill.

The suffrage will police it that what's the big society is all about right.

For instance my boy behaves better with me but when he returns his mothers household he act's up because of the excessive freedom and lack of structure. Yet when he misbehaves I have to pick up the slack without the mother backing me up with consistent action. It maybe cute right now but when he becomes and ADOLESCENT WE ALL KNOW HOW THINGS CAN TURN OUT WITHOUT THE CORRECT TEACHINGS AND GUIDANCE.

Apathy is the opiate of the masses!

It cant be right not to attempt change, just in case we fail? I know that it will be nigh on impossible to gather enough signatures for the epetition to initiate change, but its a start... Mighty oaks from little acorns grow!

Doing something is always better than doing nothing isnt it?

Keep at it Shaun...when your boy is old enough to understand, he will be very proud that you tried and never stopped trying, and not just for him but for all!

Wow haven't been on here for a month but thanks for your support and your messages. Make no mistake this is where we rise up against the TIDE. Think viral if the residency petition goes that way the movement will BE UNSTOPPABLE.

Don't lose hope, deep in my heart I do believe by working together we can transform this apathetic GOVERNMENT with the fire of revolution. Spread the movement through the Father Forums and all social network sites 100,000 that is not even 1 percent of the population of this country.

I'll keep in touch about some other initiatives we need to launch and some marches that are coming up. Lets do THIS PEOPLE.
