The dad.info team wish you a merry Christmas.
We hope you are enjoying the holidays (or will be soon) although we do know that Christmas can feel like a pressure cooker for parents. The cost of gifts, endless expectations, Elf on the Shelf antics, Christmas boxes, trees to buy! It’s a lot. If you’re feeling stressed or wondering how you’ll make it all work, that’s completely normal.
The festive season often comes with unrealistic standards, but what matters most is connection, not perfection.
Here’s another Christmas list for you:
🎄Check in on your own mental health.
⭐ Keep an eye on those you love.
🎅 It’s okay to say “enough” and do Christmas your way.
And, if you don’t find this an easy time of year and are looking for some support, here is a quick reminder of organisations you can turn to which are open every day of the year.
- Samaritans – Call 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org
- NHS 24 – Call 111 or contact your GP for an emergency appointment
- CALM (after 5pm) – Call 0800 58 58 58 or use their webchat here
- Shout – Text 85258
Remember, it’s okay to reach out and ask for help. You don’t have to struggle alone.
