Visit a Christmas light trail

Christmas light trails are the perfect way to spend a December evening, and there are locations across the UK. We like the Christmas lights and illuminations at Hever Castle, where the grounds are lit up beautifully and you can enjoy a hot chocolate while on the big wheel.

KidZania Christmas activities

If you’ve never taken the kids to KidZania in London, we recommend that you do! The KidZania ‘city’ offers a wide selection of role play opportunities for kids, and during the Christmas period children can try their hand at decorating baubles or acting in a panto.

Lanterns and Light at Chester Zoo

As if Chester Zoo wasn’t exciting enough for kids, the Lanterns and Light experience takes it to another level. This immersive light and sound experience features changing colour displays and magical animal sculptures.

Frankfurt Christmas Market, Birmingham

The Frankfurt Christmas Market takes over the city centre from November and is the biggest outside of Germany. Soak up the atmosphere and the twinkly lights and let the kids enjoy the fantastic central Christmas tree. The fairground, ice rink and big wheel are also sure to delight.

Christmas at Legoland

On top of enjoying all the sights and rides at Legoland, during the festive season the park comes to life with extra magic. As well as spotting Santa on his sleigh, little ones can enjoy live entertainment, Christmas carols, and craft activities.

Winter Wonderland, Cardiff

There’s lots to enjoy at the Winter Wonderland, which is split across two locations in Cardiff. There’s a large ice rink, fairground rides, festive food and drink and even an ice bar.

The Polar Express Train Ride

Churnet Valley Railway in Staffordshire is offering an experience like no other- a chance to go on the Polar Express! Not only will the singing chefs bring hot chocolate to your seat, but children will also receive a silver bell from Father Christmas at the end of the journey.

Hippodrome Christmas Spectacular

If you’re near Norfolk grab yourself tickets to this fantastic show, featuring acrobats and water performances. This feast for the eyes will delight the kids.

Quex Christmas

Quex Activity Centre has a host of unique, fun experiences this Christmas. Under 5’s can meet Father Christmas and ice a gingerbread man. Take a ride on the Elf Express, enjoy the illuminations or even play with a goat! There’s also Christmas activities for the family pooch and Fortnite paintball for teens.
