Hello.
I have some problem .I have court order from Poland to pay child support but we are now live in GB.My daughter is now 22 years old and finish university this year. What will be my option to stop paying child maintenance without braking a law.I try stop this by polish court but they said if we live abroad they haven't jurisdiction for this case anymore.
I ask REMO but they said the best option is agree to stop with my daughter but she said to me I have to pay till court stop this.
Anyone maybe have some tips how I can stop?Who to contact?

if i were you, i would stick with what the polish courts told you, and stop payments.

I would stop also but I will break polish law as they state only court can stop maintenance order. Also if I stop this will be my dept and if I not pay three consecutive months she can report me to police and they can take me to prison if I go there visiting family.I know this is a stupid law.

hi,

maybe next time you visit poland, you can contact university and ask for letter confirming that your daughter has completed the degree or ask for certificate copy. then if law get involved, you can show that as proof that you dont need to pay any more maintenance.

She finish university in UK.But main problem is court don't want touch this case because we don't live in Poland anymore .We are in UK from 2006 but we split 2002 and come separate here.In UK law is simple .In Poland only court can stop maintenance

Have you spoken to a lawyer in Poland? It might also be worth having a word with your Embassy and see if they can offer any solutions.

Best of luck

... That’s good, they are the best people to give you advice about this. It’s always a good idea to seek proper legal advice, as well as hearing about others experiences.

Best of luck
