Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

Hi All,

As many of you I have personally experienced a horrible, soul destroying service from the CMS.

I have three children to which I have paid for since divorce yet my ex wife continually lies about how much I have them. One of them even left child education and even though I submitted evidence they just rejected my request. Having to to court but as you know it’s call after call and nothing ever gets done. I saw a petition the other day to review the CMS.

I hope you don’t mind me posting but have been at really low points through the last few years struggling to live whilst paying £850 a month to my ex who is living her best life claiming for things she shouldn’t.

If anyone of you could sign or share. Something needs to change.
