Hello,
I`m about to apply for my sons passport, got it all signed by his teacher, looked at his birth certificate and no parents are listed on it. I am registered as his father, but just wondering as its not showing on his birth certificate will there be an issue at the passport office or is there a database they can check on?

I don't want to have to ask the ex for permission lol

Thanks for any advice

P

You might need to order a full birth certificate, I would contact the Passport office and get some clarification.

Just an update, to apply for a child's passport you do need a full birth certificate.

Thanks

If you didn't sign on your son's birth certificate when your ex register him then, you will not really see your name there.

I think advicefordad was referring to the shorter version which doesn't include the parents names, it doesn't mean he won't be on the full birth certificate.

Yes that's what I thought, were you able to get a copy and complete the passport application for your son?
