[Solved] Winter Family Activities

My Mrs is always on at me that we should be doing family things on he weekend.

But what?

It's freezing out so going for a walk seems like a crazy idea.
There's only so much shopping I can be arsed with.
Our child is only 10 months; so it's not like we can do indoor activities like museums and what not.

- I am thus getting no end of grief as I can't come up with things to do.

What are you guys doing to keep your child entertained on the weekend outside of the house?

Cheers

Just spit balling some ideas cause I don't know what sort of stuff is in your area:
Soft play, swimming, movies (the chains do baby friendly viewings at least 1 Sunday a month. It's like 10am and you can park the pram in a wheelchair bay)

Lots of museums are free and look for community farms in your area. A lot of libraries also have events geared towards kids on the weekends too.

Some great suggestions there...and as long as you're all wrapped up, winter walks can be fun! If you have a local park, feeding the ducks and squirrels is always enjoyed.

Check out the local newspapers for events and chat to other dads too. Best of luck

Hi There,
.
I agree, that as long as you wrap up warm, walks are great in the winter, sea side walks I think can actually be better in the winter, the scenery changes and it's much quieter, a walk and then find a coffee shop to warm up in and then walk some more.
.
But if you want warmer things to do, then swimming, soft play are always good, as well as zoo's and wild life parks, again I don't know where you live, but I can highly recoment West Midlands safari park, It's very reasonably priced under £20 for an adult, and that includes a return visit too which was always in the same year so maybe wait until early next year to go and then you have the rest of the year to return, the safari part takes a good few hours to drive around and then there are lots of other animals to see in the zoo part too, they have a very large selection of venemous reptiles too if thats you sort of thing.
.
