[Solved] GP - where should the kid be cared

Hi all,

This is my first ever message on a forum so please excuse me if I do something wrong.

As my subject suggests I am a father who , by all intending purposes won my custody battle. I have 4 night to my ex having 3 nights.

My question is, Given that this is the case, Where should my child be registered? Logic says to myself that it should be with my GPs. The ex and I live about 30 minutes away from each other so we cant share the same GPs.

Also, does anyone have any legal sites where this info could be available. It would be under Scottish law etc.

Thanks in advance

Hi there

It might be helpful if you were to contact the Scottish Childrens Legal Centre, they will be able to offer you legal advice on what your rights are.

www.sclc.org.uk

I would have thought that as you have your child more than the mother, that makes you the primary carer and as such your child should be registered at your GPs and also you should receive the Child Benefit and Tax Credits etc and child maintenance from the mother if she works.

Hello mojo ( Good handle btw)

Thank you for your reply.

I have been awarded the child benefit and im also in receipt of workin tax credits. The CMS is on the case for maintenance. Its unclear whether the ex is working or not.

Its all very strange regarding the GP fiasco. The records had been moved over but the ex kept requesting them back to hers. Now the Medical Practitioners claim that they now only take into account monday to friday, Which i have monday ant tuesday all day and wednesday till 11.30 that the ex has more time share. yet i have saturday and sunday which dont count.

it all seems very strange indeed.

I intend to take it to the medical ombudsman.

I smell a rat with all this and i was struggling to find any evidence supporting they're claim and thought i'd turn to here as this site really helped me win my case.

Thank you.

Try contacting your local health authority first, they may be able to help you with this. That arguement doesn't make sense to me because medical assistance is 7 days a week, children do get sick at the weekends too.

Best of luck
