I am trying to clarify when I can stop paying child support as We live in Scotland. The mygov info says I should pay up till age 16 or 20 if still in education (up to Scottish Higher level). My daughter is 16 and sitting her highers this year. If she stays on at school next year and sits Advanced Highers do I still need to pay child support?
In England and Wales it would include all education up to University level... I would check with the CMS to get clarification, as it may be slightly different in Scotland.
Hi. I am in a similar situation as my sons is staring his last year in high school and I am not certain how long I should be paying. did you get any information as to when you can stop paying?
Unfortunately I didn’t from here! The site seems very England and Wales focussed.
Have managed to confirm from elsewhere that can stop after leaves school. Any support thereafter (eg at university) is between father and child, not involving mother
ah ok so 18 years old then. that's what I had thought. annoyingly my son I think is going to college 2.5 days a week, just over the 12 hours cut off point and and I think he will be working the other days with his step dad. but obviously she wont be declaring that.
