Good Morning Folks
I have had my electric tooth brush for just over 3 years now. The brush works perfectly except the battery does not seem to hold the charge for long enough, and I have to virtually charge it overnight every night.
Would you suggest I keep doing that or spend money and buy a new one?

I'd keep putting it on charge for the while. However, rechargeable batteries generally have a useful life of around 1000 charges so at 3 years, it quite possible that it's getting near the end. You could see if there's a way to open it (try youtube) in which case it may be a standard AA rechargeable that you can replace.
Sometimes rechargeable batteries improve if they are fully discharged first and then charged from flat (they develop a sort of memory if not regularly discharged). This is difficult to do with a toothbrush because it will probably cut out after 2 minutes, so it might mean pressing the start button every 2 minutes whilst you watch the Big Bang Theory one evening.
Give this a go, but I suspect you will end up buying a new one. The good news is they are not expensive, it is irritating that the one you have will not contain any service parts but that is just the society we live in. Another option is to buy an ordinary toothbrush (costs Β£1 for two branded ones at Poundland) which will do exactly the same job.

Doctor recommend - Electric toothbrushes should be changed 2-3 times a year.

That is only for the removable brush part of course; in this case it is the battery which has failed.

Then repair your toothbrush. If it cannot repair, replace it with a new one. π
