On the 29th and 30th November 2014, the Brighton Forum Theatre Collective will be presenting a theatre piece called \\\"Contact Order\\\". It is a devised performance based on real stories and experiences of fathers who are fighting for contact with their children. The story revolves around a central character who has to deal with Cafcass, Mediation, an ex-partner and other such (familiar to most here) persons and matters in order to have his case heard and dealt with. He wants shared residency, regular contact and to be part of his child\\\'s life, but there are many obstacles on this journey...
Forum theatre gives audiences the opportunity to learn about issues such as this which are not always considered if you are not directly involved; forum theatre also allows the stage to be an open forum for debate for audience members who can choose for the characters in the play to try different approaches. It is a greta way to spark communirt awareness and involvement, and to see things from another perspective.
If you have any experiences which relate to our topic, please do share them as they will be very useful and insightful. Of course we operate with strict confidence and no-ones story would be used in the play.
Please do come and watch the performance (each night has a different outcome) as it is a great way to have your voice heard and to exchange views and opinions.
