[Solved] Could she stop me

Hi,

So I’ve been separated from kids mother close to 3 years now and it’s still never ending with her.

Last year I done driving lessons and after couple months my instructor said (not trying to float here) that my driving was brilliant and was like I was already a full driver and had been driving for years and was ready for test.

I bought my own car to go out practicing in on own time with my partner in passenger seat and responsible driver (held license for 7 years)

Now while I know it might seem stupid but as a leaner you are also allowed to carry 2 child passengers in the back. Now I would never have my kids in the car going on a long journey until I have passed but as of recently with the horrible horrible weather (storm whats it’s face) with really strong winds, heavy rain, hail etc. I said I would drive them home. Ex doesn’t want new partner driving car with kids in it. So I said that I would as I didn’t want them waking home in strong wind and heavy rain, it’s about a 20min walk.

She kicked off said would report me to police, which she did and nothing came of it.

I am fully insured on the car, I have the relevant license, as does my partner. I only drive the car when she is in passenger seat and we display L plates. Children have booster seats.

She’s saying she will stop my access if I use the car to bring them home again. I’ve just dropped them off now in heavy rain and hail, it’s -1 and they’re freezing, soaking wet when it could have been avoided with a 5-10min car ride.

Can she does anything to stop me taking them home in car until I have full license?

Everything I am doing is by law. I can legally drive the car if my partner is passenger and we display L plates. I can legally have the kids in the car providing the above is followed and have relevant booster seats.

I just don’t want to take the risk over something that seems so small but helps the kids getting home warm and dry. I don’t care if I’m freezing and soaked, I just don’t want them to be. And it’s not going to be this every time, it’s just when the weather is horrible.

hi,

that is so petty and pathetic of her lol. should be putting the children first. in freezing weather I would hate for my kids to catch a bad cold if they don't go by car. if she wants to, she can be foolish enough to stop you picking up the kids. you can ask her to pay for taxi fare then :p
