Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.

Reporting a concern

It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.

The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

Best coparenting app for custody schedule

Hi, what's the best coparenting app to use? Obviously that depends on what you need it to do. In my case, I'm mainly interested in flexibly managing the custody schedule, so we can plan ahead, request exceptions and track what actually happens. Other functions, such as messaging which can't be deleted, are a bonus for me, but it's mainly about the schedule. Anyone got any suggestions from your own experience?

I believe AppClose is very good.  Messages can't be deleted which is good

I consider the best coparenting app for flexible custody scheduling is 2Houses. It allows you to create custom schedules, track time spent with your children, message your coparent, and track expenses.

I've also heard about OurFamilyWizard, Coparently, and MyCustody, but I know nothing about them.

For managing custody schedules and planning ahead, OurFamilyWizard is a great option. It offers a robust scheduling tool that allows for flexible management of custody arrangements, as well as requesting and tracking exceptions. It also includes a secure messaging feature where messages cannot be deleted, which can be helpful for maintaining clear communication. Another good option is Cozi, which is user-friendly and focuses heavily on scheduling and calendar management, though it doesn’t have the same secure messaging feature. Both of these should help streamline your co-parenting communication and scheduling.

To truly be successful in co-parenting, it’s important to learn to go with the flow! For me, using a calendar template has been a game changer, as it allows me to see the entire month in one place, easily identify when changes need to be made, and clarify which days belong to whom. It takes a lot of the stress out of scheduling when everything is organized and clear.
