Help.
An ex who left without telling me she was pregnant contacted CMS in 2014 when child was 7years to agree child maint. I then received a letter within months from CMS advising she no longer wanted to pursue application and case closed.
Today I have received a letter from CMS advising I am to start payments effective immediately.
Does anyone know if once she closed the case it could be reopened? The letter I received got mislaid in a recent house move along with birth certificates etc (not helpful).
Thanks
Hi,
Yes I heard a cms case can be reopened if resident parent requests it, and as long as child still qualifies for child benefit.
