Hi all

Saw this in the Daily Mail today - and yes I have to admit I struggle with helping with homework

Some great comments in the forum!

Any top tips?

Mario

I had a problem when my daughter was at primary school with her maths homework - not actually getting the answer (that was the easy bit), but the method - division at that age is done by something called 'chunking' and this was totally new to me and seemed long winded when my daughter tried to explain it. At that point, I told her she needed to ask her teacher for help so that I didn't teach her the method I was taught and confuse her.

The best advise I can give is to try to make sure your kids do their homework as they get it, rather than leave it until the last minute. That way, if they have a problem, there is plenty of time for them to ask their teachers for help or advice and still be able to hit the deadlines.
