[Solved] Schooling and seperated parents

Hi, I'm new to this site, only just discovered it. Just a quick question about Schooling and seperated parents - at the moment my ex will not allow me to drop off, or collect our child from School wih no valid reason.
I have a lot of friends who are teachers who all state that it can only be beneficial for any child to actually see for themselves that both parents are involved within their education, and for me to be collecting him from the School, or picking him up will only have a positive impact on him as he will be able to see me involved, as opposed to as it stands at the moment when I simply see his teachers every few months when he's not there.
Does anyone know of any publications that specify the benefits of both parents being involved, in particular collecting the child from School? If I can find something it may help my case.

Hi lonedad,

Welcome to DadTalk mate - here you'll find you are not a lonedad.

You are looking for research publications explaining why dads matter to their kids ?

Check out this summary by the Fatherhood Institute regarding their research paper entitled "Fathers’ impact on their children’s learning and achievement"

Hope this is of help.

many thanks for that, that's brilliant. I sometimes think I may be being unreasonable asking to collect him from school, but everyone else tells me I am being more than sensible - just a shame his mother can't see it that way.

thanks again.
