Looking for some advice on this.

The cafcass officer who conducted our section 7 report, wrote to the children with her recommendations.

Has anyone else had this?

Hi How old are children, where were they interviewed, you can ask for a SARs to Cafcass directly as you have PR include any vidieos teams meetings and handwritten note.My son was interview at his school to be somewhat non influenced by either parent. good luck

Hi, It's been a few years since I went through this process. But lately it seems the s7 has become more interactive, with children being asked to write a letter to the judge, stating their wishes and feelings. They don't do this for very young children.

@bill337 Hi Bill, Thanks for your answer. Perhaps I didn't word my initial response correctly.

What I mean to say is, the cafcass officer wrote directly to the children with her recommendations from the section 7 report.

@kayen 10 and 12. The CAFCASS officer wrote to the children with her recommendations saying they shouldn't spend more time with me. Has this happened to anyone else ? What are your thoughts?

@felix5 Hi Bill yes sorry mate I have heard of this before a mate of mine has two daughters and the mother tried to move area, Cafcass wrote to both daughters age 12-14 . Cafcass protocol on "maturity of a child" are complex but in the eyes of the law and family court a child aged 7- 8 wishes and thoughts can be "considered" under the old Gillit compedency law UK its all about "maturity of the child or there understanding of the situation. you as farther and PR have the right to a copy of the reports.....but that does not include everything Cafcass said so you can ask Cafcass for a SARs all communications text e-mail's' handwritten notes. like you I am curious of why Cafcass took this route, email them and ask ? how have the children taken this ? has it distressed them ? hope this helps. please remember at the end of the day "the judge has final say in all matters.
