[Solved] Daughter turning up after 12 years

My daughter who i have not seen for 12 years has turned up refusing to go back to the family who has a residency order on her my ex gave her to her ex partners parents who are not blood related i have been in court yesterday and the judge has adjourned the hearing till monday i have no parental responsibilty as was not married to my ex also my daughter has been self harming herself and taking overdoses she is 14 years old ,the hearing monday is with my ex and the family who has residency order do i stand a chance getting my daughter back with me her mother wants me to have her please help

Hi There,

Welcome to the site.

I would say that if her mother and your daughter want her to stay with you that a judge and cafcas would look at this favourably, this may not be the case but just my view.

I will ask the CLC to drop by and coment as to thier view on this and see what they say.

I would add to this that if your daughter kept running away from her mothers and coming to you, at some point, the court would realise that at 14, your daughter is going to be better living with you than running away and living on the streets. I'd say you have a very good chance.
