Hi there

What a dreadful situation, I wish there was some practical advice I could give. It might be advisable for you to go and see a solicitor and find out what your rights are. You may be able to go to court and get some sort of emergency order in place to enable you to take them home.

Generally when people want to stay in another country they have to show that they have funds available, I didn't think it was as easy as just deciding to stay.

I've had a quick look around and have found a phone number for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in Australia, it's for general enquiries but it might be a good idea to find out if she has the right to keep your children from returning back home without your consent. The number is 131 881

You could also contact Reunite International here in the UK, they give support and advice on child abduction. Here's a link to their website

Best of luck.

I think Australia are pretty strict about people overstaying their visas - I'd definitely have a word with Oz immigration.
