Hi,

What have cafcass recommended for child contact? If it's in your favour you could just self represent. Judges like to go with cafcass recommendation majority of time.

Solicitors are usually office based, barristers turn up to court and attend hearings. A cheaper route is hire a barrister directly on a fixed fee. Can find them here: https://www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/for-the-public/search-a-barristers-record/the-barristers-register.html

A barrister for a final hearing if you can afford one, is not a bad idea at all.  Be clear on all aspects of the arrangements and don't leave anything to chance,  you want the order to be water tight and fit for purpose for as long as possible.

Lives with who ,  spends time with who where and how often , Schools , Birthdays , Doctors , Hospital appts, Christmas , Fathers day , School Holidays , Family Hols including Passport arrangements are the bare minimum details.

I agree with Bill. If your case is straight forward, you can successfully self-represent in court.

1. Are you happy with the Cafcass recommendations?

2. If not, what do you disagree with? Have you discussed/negotiated the recommendations with your ex?
