[Solved] Sports Personality of the Year

For the first time in many years we have a abundance of fantastic sporting heroes to celebrate - looking forward to watching this in early December but I wonder who will win?

Andy Murray?
Bradley Wiggins?

I looked at an online betting site and saw that John Terry was 475-1 to win...any takers?

Who do you think will win?

My money is on Andy Murray - first British player to reach a Wimbledon final for 74 years, Olympic champion and US Open Champion - I do think that he deserves it as he has proven that he is a winner.

..And he's a member of Team GB. I think though that he isnt the most popular guy and thats why I'm guessing that Bradley Wiggins, Mo Farah or Jessica Ennis might pip him to the post. I'm glad its a public vote.

If Team GB can enter the team event, then no doubt they will win it but I think in any other year the Ryder cup boys would win. They deserve it.

I think some of the paralympic athletes could have a good shot at the award as well - Hannah Cockcroft or Eleanor Simmonds perhaps? πŸ™‚

I think they 'should' be in with a good shout but I don't think they'll win. Not as much exposure in the media. Having said that, its been great to see them get a whole lot more.

I think it will be very tough to pick one person this year, have a feeling that many worthy sports people will not even make the short-list (remember only 12 can be nominated).

Just thinking about all the names that could be in contention:

Bradley Wiggins
Andy Murry
Jessica Ennis
Mo Farah
Chris Hoy
Nicola Adams
Rory McIlroy
Ian Poulter
Ben Ainslie
Laura Trott
Greg Rutherford
David Weir
Jonnie Peacock
Ellie Simmonds
Sarah Storey
Chrissie Wellington
Kath Grainger

And I bet you could name a few that I have missed off this list as well........

and a special mention for Frankel

I agree and I think she lit up the games but in terms of olympic events women's boxing will struggle against the other more popular sports
