[Solved] Is it worth getting mobile phone repaired?

Hi Folks
I have an LG KF750 phone. I've been told that the ribbon needs replacing since the display does not show on the screen. However, the repair would cost around £40, and I have a few photos stored on the phone which I would like to get printed. Is there any way of getting those photos developed without having to spend the £40 to get the phone repaired?

I have now got another handset anyway,

Thank You.

Do you know if the photos are stores on a MicroSD card in the phone - if so, you can take the card out and put it in your new phone to get the photo's off (connect your new phone to your PC and open it as an external drive, assuming you don't have an iphone). You may be able to connect your old phone directly to your PC anyway and drag them off the old phone onto your PC.

It's also possible that if you take your old phone into a phone shop (whoever your new phone is with), they may be able to transfer it for you.

ACTD is right if it's the ribbon that's gone the main functions on the phone will still work, the only issue you will have is getting the phone into the right mode to transfer the images without a working screen.

the other option is to look for a 2nd hand phone the same cheaply and see if you can replace it yourself using the other as a donor.

Yes, I did think of that. But it seems to be a bit fiddly.

chances are there's a video on you tube for your exact phone, as well as the link above.

Phones aren't as difficult to repair as you would think, that's why so many repair shops are cropping up.
