Looking at getting a Nexus Tablet for my son for his birthday - anyone got one?

The reviews say it is great but nothing like a proper review

Hi SM,

I've not used the nexus, does it run on Android?

I use the blackberry PlayBook which is great but only if your a blackberry user or most of the features aren't much good.

I'd be interested in what you think of it. The Kindle Fire HD has caught my eye. Good price and lots of features. Realistically though, I doubt I will get one, any time soon.

I popped into Comet near me today got 2 Samsung galaxy tab 8.9s for Β£77 each both were ex demo and have some marks/imperfections on the back and had no charging/data leads. I also got a galaxy tab 7.0 plus for Β£55 same set up. Worth having a look even better was going into currys next and seeing the same 7 tablet on sale for Β£165

The one I got for my parnter is fine some very light marks on the back and still had the screen protector on it

I'm writing this post on my Nexus 7. It's a little OTT to say admittedly, but it's changing my life. It's awesome, and a great size for web browsing and reading blogs, as well as keeping up with social media. It's also small enough to carry around work and make notes.

My guilty secret is that I had to buy one because I kept nicking my four year old's tablet! My parents got my son a Nabi Fuhu tablet as a combined Chirstmas/birthday present, it's an Android tablet for kids that has lots of parental controls. It also has a parents' mode where it acts more like a normal tablet.... And after he went to bed I kept "borrowing" it :p

Yes yes, I admit, my four year old was adopting technology before me... πŸ˜†

Does that mean I am going to "borrow" my son's new tablet??

I am now officially the only person in the household without a tablet and i also have the worst phone!!!
