Spurgeons and Dad.Info doesn’t investigate reports of abuse or neglect. But below, you can find advice on who to contact if you have concerns about a child or young person.
Reporting a concern
It can be difficult to know what to do if you think a child is at risk. It’s important to remember that if you’ve spotted things that don’t seem right, others will have too. Speaking up can make sure that child gets help as soon as possible.
The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer. If a child is in immediate danger, please call the police straight away by dialling 999.

Hi All,
It's #mensmentalhealthmonth so I thought I would re-share some research I'm working on at the moment with the aim of increasing services and spreading awareness of mental health in fathers. I'm a trainee psychologist with the NHS and University of Surrey.
If you are or know a father with a child aged between 6-11 years old, please consider taking part in an online survey (link below) which gives an opportunity to discuss wellbeing, family and parenting during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have also included a bunch of mental health resources and support in the debrief, please do take a look.
Thanks for your time!

You're doing a great job. I'll show it to some of my friends who could participate in this survey
I'm a father of an 8-year boy. I've been through a difficult time recently. I was at the borderline of poverty. My wife is unemployed, and I was struggling by myself to keep the roof over our heads. I began drinking, and after an event, I abruptly quit and ended up with delirium "tremens." Fortunately, after that, I attended online aa meetings which I'm very grateful. These steps indeed help you to integrate into healthy social life. It's hard to manage with all, but thinking about the well-being of my son gives me the power to live further. I hope this survey will bring a contribution to society
