Hi, help needed!! I had my first cafcass telephone interview after i applied to the courts for access to my children. During the interview, my police history came up. There were a few things that came up that i had forgotten about (mainly drunk and disorderly or drunk fighting!) But this was a while ago, approx 8 years ago. My ex doesnt know about these incidents and i dont want her to know. Is there a way this can be kept from her or does everything have to be revealed?
hi,
after your initial call with cafcass, they should be writing up a safeguarding letter about the call. They do police checks, so if there is anything on your records, they will write about it. They have to report this info to the courts. you and your ex should both be getting a copy of this safeguarding letter at some point. Courts and both yourself and ex need to see information as they will use it to make decisions about child arrangements. They are very cautious and would like to know if there's any safeguarding concerns with parents caring for children.
