I think you will just have to keep trying. Could be a temporary technical blip or just that their lines are busy after the bank holiday?

All sorted my side was told would go on direct pay thank the lord and that I do every 2nd weekend and that I wish to pay monthly.

My old arrangement was weekly but I find 1st of the month easier at £257 pm because easier to plan ,got the pin now to check on case till finalised, hopefully smooth and 52 nights not in question......

I would keep trying, but also put a letter in writing and send it recorded - if you are paying £60 per week, the collect and pay will up that to £72 per week, it's worth doing your best to avoid that.

You will get these odd variations as they get updates from HMRC etc plus there could be an admin error... However you will need to contact them to clarify..

Yo mate, even if she chooses click and collect , and you choose direct pay they will go with direct pay mate. They will only enforce the click and collect if you miss payments.

I have am having a lot of difficulties with the CMS though, they all say different things. But what i have mentioned above is true, do not listen to the people that answer the phone, only the application team kind of know what they are talking about.

I am in arrears at the moment because CMS is taking ages to progress my case even though its not my fault and i am complying with everything.

They are an absolute nightmare to get a hold of as well, you got to ring them directly at 9:30am to get through to them, ask to speak to the case handler or application team.

Problem being mate is that because if takes them around 30 days to process your case you will always be the 30 days in arrears for the first year! so your monthly payment will be as per the calculator plus the arrears which is divided by the 12 months.

I received a letter last week out the blue, from some women i have not seen in years, claiming the child is mine the stress they put on you is un real, they do not treat the man fairly either.

Hello mate cheers

Feel better in many ways because feels like a good opportunity to pay monthly which I prefer

Only thing I don't understand it arrears because I have a brand new case and first payment is 1st June but shows arrears of £8.56 but how does arrears work if your on direct pay and pay your ex directly via online banking?

The arrears will build up for a small amount (sometimes can be a large amount if takes ages to contact you) as they have to give you 30 days notice to make payment and the arrears will be for a partial month that you would be liable for. Everything is worked out from when the claim was opened but if it takes a while to speak to you then they still have to give you notice to set up Direct Pay... However they will spread this over the 12 months and as long as you pay all instalments as advised you are fine.. Hope this helps..

I have been paying my ex equiv monthly child maintenance since early 2019. In addition I’ve been paying the mortgage on the house that she still lives, which is £1900 p/month. My maintenance amount is just over £900. If I defect half the mortgage she gets nothing…so I stead I’m paying her £335 which I took from her court submission and was the cost of children from her income needs.
I suspect she’s getting the CMS involved now.

What should expect and how do I prepare?

@stevenh CMS will do their calculation based on your income alone, though they should also deduct your mortgage payments from your income as part of the calculation. It's worth going on the child maintenance calculator to get an idea of what you will pay. CMS will replace the any court order if it's more than 12 months old.
