My kids dad is currently in prison for a sexual assault on his ex partner! When he gets out soon will my children be subject to a Child protection to see there dad? I have never had any social services involment and don’t plan on having it now!
I was with ex for 10 years never laid a finger on me or my children, he continued to see them before the court case three nights a week and the children visit him now in prison, after I asked the social services advice should I let my children go to a prison which they advised yes!
My children and their dad have a good relationship always have, I’m a stable parent who puts my children first and I’m worried that I will have to end contact and have social services judge me and make me break my kids hearts and do assessments on something that has nothing to do with me, apart from have kids with a Man 12 years ago,
Will social services get involved and want to do assements on me and my children

Hi There,

I can't see that SS would want to asses you and your situation, they may look at your ex and what has happened and whether they decide that he will only be able to have supervised contact is hard to say.

Because this was a sexual assault they may have some concerns around dad having un supervised contact, hat said it wasn't child related so as said it's hard to say one way or another.

Thanks for the reply, they still have a right to do assessments on me and my children I’m just hopefully that my kids don’t go onto child protection because of this

I think it's a matter of working with the authorities, and hopefully their dad doing the same. He is probably going to have to jump through some hoops, but when they work properly, Children's services are their to protect the children, and working with them makes their job easier, and so hopefully will make it easier for all of you as well.
