I received a letter today saying I can see my son in a contact centre for 2 hours a week if I sort it out
can I refuse this I don't see why it has to be contact centre
how bad will this look in court on me if I refuse
I want to have relevant time with my son
can contact centre be used as a pick up point for my son

Was this letter from her solicitor and have you had any contact ?

It's best to accept any contact offered. Have you been to court yet ? Depending on your history and wife willingness to give access, it maybe CAFCASS/Court recommend contact centre anyway. Least if you have started you can show it is going well.

I’d say do it…..i know it seems like you’re doing all the running but if it gets you any time with your little one you can then show you’re willing to do whatever it takes to see them.

Do you have a contact order in place? If this is just the terms your ex wants you to do then I would take it now and continue with contact order to get more showing you’re the reasonable one doing what it takes to see them.

If you don’t you could be months away from seeing your kid/kids if she refuses any other contact!

I would be tempted to say yes in principle and push for increasing over a set time scale…say a couple of months…say 6 times in the centre and then away from it….if she refuses this can be used as your ammo for court showing her refusal to extend contact and her being the un-reasonable one.

As is mentioned many times over….do it all in writing so you have records/proof of what is being offered / refused etc… gives more weight in your fight for further contact if going through court.

Just a thought pal.

this was through her solicitor
I took my court forms on Monday to the court and not heard nothing back yet
don't understand how she can allow overnight stays [15 nights] then say contact centre would be better for 2 hours every Saturday
she knows I took my son swimming on Sundays and is now being difficult with me to hurt me
I have non-molestation order on me so my farther sorted arrangements by text messages
how will she look by keep changing her mind ?
I have prepared a non-molestation order defence please take a look let me know what u think please
many thank dadwhocares

As above, as unfair as it is take what is offered for the moment and argue your case in court.
