[Solved] FM1 and frustration with Court!!

Hi,

I have made an application for a C100 and attended a MIIAM meeting with a local mediator. I have decided not to proceed with mediation as my ex-partner has ignored previous agreements and I need an Order to prevent this from happening again. The mediator correctly filled in Part 2 of the FM1 form ticking the first box stating that one or both people involved have attended the MIAM and do not wish to proceed with mediation, and we both duly signed and dated it. The FM1 form was then returned with the C100 application.
Today, however, I have received this all back with a cover letter saying the District Judge states the FM1 form is not completed correctly!! I immediately phoned the court to ask what part was incorrect and was told they are not allowed to tell me!!?? I spoke to the mediator concerned who felt equally frustrated at not knowing what part the Judge has deemed incorrect....so we are at a complete loss!
I have looked over the form a dozen or more times and can honestly not see how it can be determined as incorrectly completed....the ONLY thing I can see is that the respondents name does not have her middle name written as it is in the C100 forms. Surely this cant be why it was rejected as incorrect??

Thanks

Normally, I'd ask the CCLC to pop on, but I think it's probably better if you call them directly to see if they can give you any advice as they may be able to go through the details of the form, which we can't do on the fourm - the link is http://www.childrenslegalcentre.com

Many thanks for the reply

I phoned the CCLC and they were very helpful. I am re-submitting the FM1 with a covering letter insisting that the form is correctly completed. Was just interested to know if anyone else has had a similar experience. What sort of system tells you they think you have made a mistake but then wont tell you what that mistake is!!??

Does seem completely stupid - it's a waste of everyones time, and it racks up admin costs for the court which they can ill afford. I'd be inclined to write or email to your MP about that - not to get anything done in your case (hopefully that will be sorted very shortly) with this, but so that hopefully that can be corrected.
