Hi Loganzdaddy 🙂

I'm sorry to hear about you situation with your little boy, it must be very hard.

Unfortunately as the mother is American and your son was born and is resident there, I feel theres not a lot you can do. She is not governed by English Law and so any rights you may have here dont apply. I'm sorry to have to tell you this but in my opinion, if the mother decides to stop all contact she will be able to do so as they are out of our juristriction. I hope I'm wrong.

However nobody can make you sign anything, but again she may not need to have your signature to install the other man as a guardian...I suggest you try and look into US law regarding this. One of the Moderators can ask the Coram Childrens Lgal Centre to come along and give you some advice.

I have checked with the CCLC, they can't help because of the jurisdictions, but they did suggest to get in contact with an organisation caller Reunite (www.reunite.org) at 01162 556 234.
