Hi 🙂 i am just wondering if anybody could help me/give me advice on a current situation i am in regarding court. I have applied to the family courts for a contact order/parental responsibility, however they have sent my forms back to me and apparently i am missing certain evidence etc. I am representing myself so i am trying my best to sort this, but it seems i am hitting a brick wall. So if anybody has any experience or be able to advise me then that would be great 🙂

Basically i filled in a c100 form and a c2 form, as i am aware because i dont have parental rights i need to apply for permission? I also filled in an ex160 form to prove i am in a receipt of a benefit, They have said that the c100 form is out of date? however i got it from the official website? I also need to send the court 3 copys of the forms? I am just so lost with all of this lol, is the c100 form now replaced with the c2 form? I know that i will have to provide copys of my bank statements etc, Also now my ex has moved house so how can the court find her address? Any advice guidance on exactly what i need to do would be fantastic

Good luck to all who is going through the court process!

How long is it since you downloaded the C100? Compare the one you have to the one currently on site. The C2 form does not replace the C100, you need to submit both forms.

The C2 form is correct, as you do not have PR you need the permission of the court to make the application.

You will need to submit copies copies of C100 and C2, the court keep one copy, they send a sealed copy to the other parent and return a sealed copy to yourself.

When you submitted your fees exemption form did you submit evidence that you are in receipt of benefits no more than 4 weeks old? All the bank statements you submit must be as up to date as possible, i.e. if you submit the documents tomorrow, they are best being up to date as near as possible to today.

I assume you do not know your ex's new address? What about the ex's parents or other family member address? if you know that, use that address as care of. If not, you will need to submit an application to disclose the address, which the Court will deal with via DWP, Education etc. (Form C4)

Hope that helps you.

...if the court is accessible to you then why not drop in and pick up a current copy of the C100 form and the C4 as mentioned, they can also advise you about anything else you're not sure about. If you're not able to do this, here's a link to a very helpful website that has lots of info about the whole process. You can also download the forms from there.
