Not sure where to start. I’ve been through an awful lot over the past few months and I’m now at the point where I can only see legal help will work.

I got a girl pregnant and she’s due with twins in the next 5/6 weeks. When I first started to see her she was lovely, we got on and there could have been potential for more. There too much to go into really but I recently had to log a harassment case with my local police as things were getting silly. She’s a monster of a human being and the vain of my life.

I wont be at the birth. Chances are I wont be on the birth certificate. And I will be hoping to get a DNA test just make sure the girls are mine. Once they are proved to be mine I’ll want to be a father and love, provide and support them all I can.

The main reason for the post is that I’m seriously considering fighting her for full custody. My greatest fear is that they grow up under her manipulation and mental instability. I have all the support of my friends, family and work.

I’m far from perfect but I can’t allow those girls to be brought up by her.

Help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome

I think the first question is do you have any evidence that the children would be at any risk with their mother - it's possible that any anger she has is being directed solely at you because of the break-up, and don't forget that while pregnant, her hormones will be all over the place and that once the babies are born, she may be back to how she was when you first met her.

The problem you face is that generally, babies are very dependant on their mother when they are first born so, while it isn't impossible that you could get custody, it certainly would be all on you to prove that there is a compelling reason why this should happen.

Thankyou for your post.

The main concern I have I'd the emotional and psychological long term damage. It's scares me to think they could be brought up and have the wrong values instilled.

I have no doubt or concerns of physical problems, it's all mental and emotional I'm afraid.

Would it set me in better stead to be on he birth certificate if I were to try for full custody?

Thanks once again.

I'll ask the CCLC to pop on and give some advice, so keep checking back.
