I have recently split from my partner of 7 years we have 2 boys 5 years and a 2 year old.

She suffers from depression and will only allow me 1 supervised visit a week. her reasoning being is that i would take the kids to my mums (were i am living at present) who owns a dog ( German shephard) that has bitten someone a few years back when he was a pup. we used to bring the the kids to see my mum regulally and the dog was as good as gold.

any help/advise in this will be appreciated, will i need a contact order and how??

Your first course of action should be to go to mediation, you may be able to resolve without going further,

Other than that, you may need a contact order, but again, before a court hearing, you will have a conciliation hearing - again, this is an opportunity to come to an agreement, and the court at this stage can issue a a consent order for contact if there is an agreement between you.
