From a study I saw today. 13% of Circumcised Americans would not.
Is it declining. It seem to me like less dads are passing it on to their children when given a choice (not medical or religious)
I was, and if it had been up to me, I would have had my son circumcised as I think there is enough evidence that it can lower the occurrence of cancer that it's worth the operation. However, my ex wouldn't entertain the idea, so I couldn't ask for it to be done.
I watched a documentry the other evening where a clear correlation between circumcision and the spread of aids has been recorded where those uncircucised had a higher incidence of aids within those communities. Something to do with higher keratin levels in the skin of circumcised males being a barrier to the virus.
I wasnt but have considered it for a few reasons. I also see the logic in waiting until a son could make an informed decision.
Interesting even if eye watering topic....

Dave
It's a tricky one waiting for a son to make an informed decision - how many men would voluntarily have such an operation? I would imagine it is very few, let's face it, we are pretty squeamish about vasectomies - it's only because there are very obvious and immediate benefits that we do so - would we still make the same decision if the benefit was a reduced risk of cervical cancer to our partners (which I believe is the case)?
I'm glad my parents had me 'done' when I was a baby so I didn't have to make that decision :pinch: 😀
