Hi

I am trying to get contact but the ex is putting hurdles in the way, I have BiPolar and had drinking issues after we split up, I am on medication for the bipolar and the drinking is twice a week now.

I found the C100 form but I am unsure if I can send it myself, costs etc as it states on the form solicitors details, is that required?

Thanks

Hi there,

Just leave that section blank, you don't need a solicitor as you can self represent. It won't be straightforward for you though because of the problems you have at the moment....but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.

If you are on a low income or unemployed you may be entitled to an exemption from court costs, which are £200 to apply for contact. For this you would need form EX160a

I think it might be advisable for you to attend one of the FNF branch meetings that is in your area. There you will meet others in a similar situation to yourself, having been denied contact. They will help with forms and give advice and support. Here's a link to their webpage where you can find details of a meeting near you.
