Hi

Been contacted by the csa today to say that an appeal i lodged has been upheld i thought great about time but yes u guessed it the was a big but to come, i apealed on that the wanted arreas off me i asked why they told me for two reasons 1 was i havnt been paying enough which turns out was they fault hence some of the appeal win the other was as follows :- early last year i had to have chemo for cancer i was off work for up to 9 mths and paid my £5 stat maint payment through my work which i and my employer thought was correct but the csa and my ex wife are insisting i pay the full arrears for this period still which totals up to £1600 money i dont have as i never earned it in the first place due to suffering from cancer. I havnt seen my children for over 4 years not my fault as their mam wont let me, apart from the sick have never missed a weeks payment as i do it direct fron my works wages advise please!

Hi,

So sorry to hear about the treatment you had to have last year. Hope you are well now!? From what you've said, correct me if I'm wrong, you had the CSA contact you re arrears. You appealed this & their decision that you owe the money has been upheld? Are you only owing the money for the period you were off work having treatment or is that just part of it? As far as I'm aware the CSA payments are based on what you earn. So, if you didn't earn more than £5 during treatment (I guessing per week/month??) I'm not sure why they would say you owe the money. What are their reasons for saying you owe it exactly??

As them to contact your payroll for a reassessment of this time - they can do that if u give them permission - then they will know u were not earning
