[Solved] Private tenancy and re-housing of ex

I posted a question yesterday regarding the Council forcing me to vacate the privately rented property. Thanks once again to those that replied.

My ex has contacted me and says that the Council will not re-house her unless I give her an eviction notice. She moved out as I found out she is seeing someone else and I was not prepared to put up with her contacting him in my presence and allowing him in the house when I am not there, as she has already done.

Has anyone been in this situation ? If I give her an eviction letter, will it come and bite me on the 'behind' somehow?

I don't believe it will, but I did wonder when I saw your other post, the council won't normally house people urgently where they have made themself voluntarily homeless.

I think you might fall foul for not giving her notice to leave first....it might be a sneaky manoeuvre! Get some advice from the CAB first! 🙂

I'm going to see a solicitor and get advice; CAB is a good idea as far as cost is concerned but I need an appt ASAP.
