hi,

lot of info on them here https://voiceofthechild.org.uk/kb/cms-and-the-financial-investigation-unit-fiu/

first thing to do is go over the letter properly, ring CMS and and enquire about it. I have a feeling they wont say much, other than hand over tax returns. do you have an accountant? if so, good idea to consult them about this too.

Hi there

I’m sorry, I don’t know how this happens, whether it’s a random selection, or the receiving parent has something to do with it. Are you able to speak to the ex about it?

Best of luck

Thank you for your answer and in reply yes I have contacted my accountant and he’s emailed all of my accounts and I’m posting them today and you are correct cms would not tell me anything this as really up set things as it’s extra stress which I don’t need at the moment for personal reasons and thanks again

As a sole trader, I understand generally what you are paid is what is seen, I believe little opportunity to hide things or divert income. This can happen with Limited company.

So I suggest if you are being assessed on what you declare, and that is correct, then they will not find something that results in more to pay.

I am Limited Company, but a colleague is sole trader and his take home pay reflects what he receives into his business
