Hi.
I have my section 7 hearing on 13th. Litigant in person. I have just finished my statement and proposels.
Do I give statement and proposels to the usher to give to the judge in the hour before the trial? Or should I submit it Monday? As you can see I have no idea what I'm doing.
If it’s a position statement and is brief (2pages) without any evidence attached, you can take it with you to the hearing and give it to the usher to be put before the judge. Do it as soon as you arrive at the court.
Take copies for your ex and a copy for yourself.
Best of luck
It's 3 pages :pinch: is it too much? I can't compress it anymore
I found someone to be my much needed McKenzie friend, do I need to inform the court before Wenesday or can just say to usher on the day?
Firstly, double check that the last court order didn't specify a filing date for your position statement. If it doesn't, just take it with you and hand to the usher.
Secondly, in my experience, it's better to just take the MF with you and ask them to bring a brief note to court laying out that they have no personal interest in your case, that they understand confidentiality is of the utmost importance in court matters and any experience they might have that might assist the hearing.
That is of course assuming this is not a 'professional' MF or someone with experience of the family court. If that is the case, they will know what to do.
It's likely the court will give you a MF form and the guidance to complete and read.
Best of luck
